Class 1 Driver

Job Title: Class 1 Driver
Location: Eastern Passage, NS
Shift/Hours: Monday to Friday, day shifts
Pay Rate: $27.00 per hour

The Class 1 Driver will support transportation and logistics operations for a busy food distribution facility in Eastern Passage, NS. This role involves local trips throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality, including airport runs and packaging material pickups.

This position is suited for a reliable, safety-focused driver who is comfortable with local driving, completing delivery paperwork, and providing professional communication with dispatch, vendors, and team members.

Responsibilities:

• Complete scheduled trips to and from the Halifax airport
• Pick up packaging materials and supplies from local vendors throughout HRM
• Safely operate Class 1 vehicles in accordance with transportation regulations
• Load and unload materials as required
• Complete delivery paperwork and maintain accurate records
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns
• Maintain professional communication with dispatch, vendors, and team members
• Follow company safety procedures and transportation requirements
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Valid Class 1 driver's licence required
• Minimum 2 years of Class 1 driving experience in Canada
• Clean driver's abstract and safe driving history required
• Previous commercial driving experience preferred
• Comfortable with local HRM driving and airport logistics
• Able to lift and move materials as required
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Safety-focused with strong attention to detail
• Able to work independently and follow assigned routes and instructions
