About the Role

NLHS Digital Health is seeking two CorCare Environment & Release Coordinator and Data Courier Administrator to join our Digital Health IT team. These roles are at the heart of the technical operations that keep our CorCare (Epic) Health Information System running safely and reliably for clinical care across Newfoundland and Labrador.

You will define and implement the change control processes that govern the NLHS CorCare environment, coordinate all upgrade and release activities, and serve as the organizational Data Courier Administrator — managing the interfaces that migrate application build between environments. You will also serve as the technical execution lead for CorCare business continuity activities, working within the program governance framework of the IT Operations Business Continuity Planner to ensure the environment is always ready for planned and unplanned downtimes.
This is a highly demanding role in a fast-paced, 24/7 clinical environment where system availability is directly tied to patient safety. You must be capable of making timely, well-informed decisions under pressure — during system outages, time-critical release windows, and competing operational priorities — while ensuring patient safety, system reliability, and strict adherence to security and governance standards at all times.

You Will Be Responsible For:

Change Control & Release Management

  • Defining and implementing change control processes for the NLHS CorCare environment; developing new processes or enhancing existing ones to incorporate CorCare components and build activities.
  • Establishing and maintaining the sign-off process for Release Authorizations (RAs) from Epic; serving as the organizational authority for environment release readiness on behalf of the Director of IT.
  • Leading or participating in change control committees, upgrade planning, maintenance window planning, and rollout planning committees.
  • Coordinating and managing CorCare upgrade and update activities across application and technical team leads; ensuring all parties have clear timelines, responsibilities, and readiness criteria.
  • Â Tracking update and patch levels across all production and non-production environments; designing data migration strategies and managing large data loads associated with upgrade and release cycles.
  • Leading incident response for environment-affecting issues; operating composedly and decisively during production outages with clear stakeholder communication throughout.

Business Continuity Technical Execution

  • Serving as the technical execution lead for CorCare business continuity activities within the program governance framework established by the IT Operations Business Continuity Planner.
  • Executing environment readiness validation activities: Read-Only and DR environment access validation, BCA Web Data Entry readiness testing, and downtime drill technical setup and support.
  • Maintaining technical documentation for BCA infrastructure, DR environment configuration, and environment downtime procedures — ensuring materials are current and accessible.
  • Contributing technical findings and root cause analysis from downtime events and drills to the IT Operations Business Continuity Planner for program-level lessons learned and Honor Roll reporting.
  • Ensuring environment and BCA activities comply with NLHS change control policy, CAB requirements, ATTIPA/PHI obligations, and Epic's Business Continuity Best Practices Checklist.

Data Courier Administration

  • Serving as the main organizational point of contact for Data Courier and build migration activities; configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting Data Courier interfaces across all CorCare environments.
  • Resolving CID/UCI synchronization issues; instructing application analysts on Data Courier and import/export functionality.
  • Collaborating with Epic to implement new projects and modules; managing application upgrades by setting timelines, maintaining communication, and addressing issues.
  • Triaging requests, determining issue priority, analyzing and communicating impact, and validating that solutions are complete and appropriately implemented.

Stakeholder Coordination & Program Support

  • Maintaining on-call coverage for release windows and environment-related incidents, including after-hours response.
  • Working in close partnership with the IT Operations Business Continuity Planner — providing accurate, timely technical status and readiness reporting to support program governance and Honor Roll reporting.
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with the ODBA and ECSA teams, CorCare application teams, PMO, Clinical Informatics, and Epic vendor representatives.
  • Contributing to environment and BCA-related SOPs and runbooks in coordination with the IT Operations Business Continuity Planner.
