Galaxia was founded in 2020 with a bold vision: to advance Canada's presence in space through innovative satellite technologies. Since then, the company has grown into one of Canada's most exciting space technology firms, establishing itself as the only company of its kind in Atlantic Canada and one of only a handful across the country.

Headquartered in Halifax, Galaxia designs and builds satellite components, subsystems, and complete satellite solutions, serving both government and commercial customers. The company is currently delivering projects with the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Space Agency while expanding internationally through its newly established UK office. Galaxia is also working on next-generation satellite initiatives, including a 200kg-class satellite project alongside the European Space Agency.

As the company enters an exciting new stage of growth, Galaxia is looking to grow its team and further accelerate its expansion. With increasing visibility among government leaders, industry stakeholders, and the broader aerospace community, the company is seeking a Marketing Manager who can help tell its story, elevate its brand, and establish Galaxia as a defining name in Canada's modern space sector.

The Role

Reporting to the VP Government Affairs and Public Relations, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing Galaxia's overall marketing and communications strategy. This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing space technology company at a pivotal moment in its evolution.

As the organization's first dedicated marketing leader, you will shape the company's public profile, strengthen its digital presence, increase media visibility, and build brand recognition across Canada and internationally. You will work closely with senior leadership, subject matter experts, external partners, and stakeholders to translate highly technical work into compelling stories that resonate with government, industry, academia, investors, and the public.

This is a highly hands-on role for an entrepreneurial marketer who thrives in growth-stage environments and enjoys both strategic planning and day-to-day execution.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and brand strategy aligned with Galaxia's growth objectives.
• Position Galaxia as a leading voice in Canada's space and satellite industry.
• Create compelling narratives that communicate the company's mission, impact, innovation, and expertise.
• Lead content development across LinkedIn, company websites, thought leadership pieces, presentations, and other digital channels.
• Build and manage an editorial calendar and ensure a consistent flow of engaging content.
• Collaborate with technical teams to translate complex aerospace and defence concepts into accessible and engaging content.
• Monitor and enhance Galaxia's social media presence, with particular emphasis on LinkedIn and executive thought leadership.
• Measure and report on key marketing performance indicators, including audience growth, media coverage, engagement, and brand awareness.
• Manage relationships with external vendors, agencies, designers, and marketing partners.
• Support communications efforts related to corporate growth initiatives, strategic partnerships, and future fundraising activities.
• Contribute marketing support, where appropriate, to affiliated organizations including Psylogica and the Pulsar Institute.
• Maintain exceptional attention to detail and ensure all communications reflect the highest standards of quality, professionalism, and accuracy.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related discipline.
• 5-8 years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, public relations, brand management, or related fields.
• Proven success building and growing brands, particularly within emerging, entrepreneurial, or high-growth organizations.
• Strong content creation, storytelling, and copywriting capabilities.
• Experience developing and executing social media strategies that drive engagement and visibility.
• Demonstrated ability to secure media coverage, thought leadership opportunities, and industry recognition.
• Strong understanding of digital marketing, brand development, and communications strategy.
• Ability to operate effectively with limited resources and identify creative, high-impact marketing opportunities.
• Excellent project management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong judgment, initiative, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and execute.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing polished, accurate work.
• Experience within aerospace, defence, technology, engineering, or other highly technical industries would be considered an asset.
• Experience with photography, videography, video editing, or multimedia content creation would be considered a strong asset.
