We are currently looking for a Treasury & Investor Services Advisor to join our Corporate Treasury team on a permanent basis.

As Emera's Treasury & Investor Services Advisor, you will be an integral member of the Treasury team, leading the administration of Emera's Employee Common Share Purchase Plan and supporting investor services and treasury activities. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective execution of compliance and operational requirements while serving as a key resource for employees, internal stakeholders, and external partners.

This role offers the opportunity to work across Treasury, HR, Payroll, Finance and external partners, including financial institutions, shareholders and employees. Success in this role requires strong relationship building skills, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service and continuous improvement.

As a key member of Emera's Corporate Treasury team, you will be primarily responsible for administering Emera's Common Share Purchase Plan, supporting retail shareholder and dividend administration activities, and supporting compliance and administration of banking agreements and other documentation.

Key Elements of the Role:

  • Administer the Employee Common Share Purchase Plan, including enrollments, contributions, purchases, and withdrawals
  • Work with the transfer agents to execute share purchases and other transactions
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to the plan
  • Generate reports and assist with financial reconciliation and audit processes including the maintaining of Emera's common share reconciliation and share reserves
  • Prepare employee communications, plan documentation, and educational materials
  • Collaborate with HR, payroll, finance, and legal teams to ensure effective plan administration
  • Administer Emera's quarterly dividend payment to external shareholders
  • Act as the primary point of contact for retail shareholder inquiries and support activities
  • Ensure internal controls over financial reporting for which you are responsible to support, perform, review or sign off are executed in accordance with the Company's SOX program
  • Prepare financial reports, account reconciliations and supporting analysis to facilitate accounting and reporting of Treasury transactions

As the ideal candidate you recognize yourself in most of the following competencies, and possess or are working towards the desired skills and experience listed below:

  • Bachelor's Degree combined with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related role. A related combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in administration, payroll, benefits, investor services or financial operations. Experience working with transfer agents, employee share purchase plans and equity compensation programs is an asset
  • Proficient in maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite software, including strong Excel skills and a demonstrated curiosity and adaptability in using AI-assisted tools (e.g., Copilot) to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Strong relationship building skills and the ability to work well with people at various levels within and outside of the organization;
  • You bring a flexible mindset and are open to change. We are looking for a curious professional who enjoys improving processes and gaining efficiencies; and;
  • Possess the ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Experience with Excel as well as demonstrated curiosity and adaptability in using AI-assisted technologies, including Copilot-style tools
