Definition of Work:

This professional nursing position will work in collaboration with team members across various aspects of the Surgical Services Program at JPMRHC. Primary responsibility for provision of complete nursing care will be in the Endoscopic Unit. The position will report to the Nurse Manager of Inpatient Surgical Services and Endoscopy. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.

Required qualifications:
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador.
• Current BLS certification for health care providers from the Heart and Stroke Foundation.Current ACLS and Health Assessment certification or must be willing to complete next available course.
Demonstrate ability to work independently
Demonstrate strong organizational skills
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Consistent demonstration of NL Health Services corporate values; Innovation Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence (ICARE)
• Demonstrated competency in working to the full scope of practice (as per the CRNNL and NLHS or local zone’s policies and procedures) and standards of care relevant to designated client population.
• Completion of other skills and post basic competencies as required.
• Work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
• A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
• A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.


Preferred qualifications:

• Recent Endoscopy experience (within the last 2 years).
