This position meets the criteria for a probationary/permanent contract.
Successful Term Rehire Teachers who are fully qualified will be issued a probationary/permanent contract and will become a permanent member of the school's teacher complement. Teachers should only apply for these positions if they are prepared to accept a probationary/permanent contract.
The Speech Language Pathologist supports students with communication disorders through direct service and program development, within the Planning Process, through the provision of specialized knowledge and skills.
Qualifications required:
- Masters Degree in Human Communication Disorders or acceptable equivalent;
- Eligibility for full membership in Nova Scotia College of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (NSCASLP);
- Special Certificate from the Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, Office of Teacher Certification;
- Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor of Education and relevant teaching experience.
HRCE offers:
- Approximate ratio of SLP/students 1:1200
- Competitive salary
- Hours ranging from 8:00 - 4:00 depending on the school
- Mixture of 10-month and 12-month contracts are available
- Mileage reimbursement
