Capstone is hiring for a Sr. Business Analyst. This position is a full-time, permanent role, preference will be given to those within Nova Scotia, however candidates from other areas are encouraged to apply.

As a Business Analyst:

• You will help uncover business potential by analyzing business processes/systems, identify inefficiencies and required controls, document procedures, and track KPIs.
• You will be part of the architectural team! Participate in planning initiatives, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analyses, and new systems design.
• You will document and manage business and functional requirements, collaborating with internal and external customers to elicit business concerns and develop workable solutions.

The following deliverables are standard creations:

• Project Vision Document
• Requirement Management Plan
• User Stories, Use Cases, Test Cases
• Business Requirement Document
• Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM)
• Functional Requirement Specification (FRS)/ Functional Specification Document (FSD)
• Non-Functional Specification
• System Requirement Specification (SRS)/ System Requirement Document (SRD)

• You will validate with rigor, verifying requirements through analysis, testing, and inspection to ensure functionality, accuracy, and completeness.
• You will champion simplicity and efficiency, always emphasizing ease of use, ensuring smooth implementation and user experience. All while safeguarding business and client needs by verifying the functionality and completeness of requirements.
• You will excel in collaboration, and you will drive continuous Improvement, by:
• partnering with the Program Manager, Project Managers, Architect and Cybersecurity Lead, Privacy, other Business Analysts and Change Managers where appropriate
• reporting progress to the Program and/or Project Managers
• assisting with RFP and SOW creation and evaluation where requested
• pushing for continuous improvement and refinement.

To do this job, you need:

• Strong facilitation skills to elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, task and workflow analysis.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple project deadlines.
• Ability to map out complex processes, analyze data and provide the business with recommendations and opportunities.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement continuous improvements in business processes.
• Flexible and adaptable in learning and understanding new industries & technologies.
• A strong teamwork orientation and the ability to work with cross functional teams at all management levels.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and Visio.
• Government (federal / provincial / municipal / crown corporation) experience is an asset.
• Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) is an asset.
• 10+ years' experience as a Business Analyst
• Industry Experience: IT, Health, Emergency Services; and
• Bilingual (French/English) would be an asset.
