Our client, FWH Chartered Professional Accountants, is a well-established boutique accounting firm that offers highly specialized and personalized services for practicing physicians. They provide customized strategies for their clients to help them achieve their financial goals. We are excited to be leading the recruitment efforts looking to bring a Senior Manager to their team in Halifax!

Reporting to the Partners, the Senior Manager will be responsible for managing client engagement work, ensuring deadlines are met, maintaining technical material and providing guidance and support to other staff members. This role will assist clients and the Partners in meetings, client onboarding and firm presentations.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing review of personal income tax returns.
  • Providing accounting and tax guidance to Managers and Senior Accountants.
  • Conducting manager reviews of engagement work prepared by accountant.
  • Tailoring annual compensation plan for Partner review.
  • Preparing presentations to promote the firm.
  • Firm networking, including identifying and acting upon new business opportunities.
  • Managing teams and prioritizing daily tasks and deadlines.
  • Onboarding of new resident clients and assisting partners with practicing clients.
  • Coordinating and managing firm projects.
  • Regular correspondence and meetings with clients.
  • Overseeing the management of client engagement work including NTR, T2, T3, T4, and T5.
  • Other related duties as required.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • CPA designation or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a management position within a public accounting firm.
  • Comfortable networking, presenting, and promoting the firm's mission.
  • Strong leadership skills coupled with the ability to work individually or in a team environment.
