Key Responsibilities:

Working collaboratively to support the successful delivery of Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro's New Developments (Gull Island and Churchill Falls Extension), this position will be responsible for Hydro's civil engineering oversight. This role will consist of leading a team of civil engineers to work closely with Hydro Quebec and other consultants to ensure the successful delivery and turnover to operations of these New Developments.

What We're Looking For:

  • Someone who can exercise a high level of personal initiative and judgment as the lead for Civil Engineering within Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro who will work closely with Hydro Quebec in the planning, organizing, engineering, construction and commissioning of two Mega Projects - Gull Island and Churchill Falls Extension;
  • Someone who can work collaboratively with the Hydro Quebec team, ensuring Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro's engineering and operational standards are incorporated into the design, construction and completion of the two Mega Projects;
  • Ability to liaise with other departments within Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro, including Safety and Health, Environment and Operations.

What You'll Need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and are eligible for registration with PEGNL.
  • Extensive background (10+ years) on large engineering and construction projects with a focus on Hydro Electric Utility infrastructure.
  • You must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
