Employment Opportunity: Athletics Administrator (3 year contract subject to a probationary period)

Overview
The Athletics Department is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to assist with matters relating to the facility, department and varsity teams. The Athletics Administrator will manage gameday operations, student staff and all facility scheduling and rentals. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for athletics and have the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Specific Duties/Accountabilities:
Office and Facility administration:
- Act as the primary point of contact for the Athletics Department
- Create, manage and maintain schedules for the facility. This includes the gymnasium, dance studio, weight room and cardio room.
- Create and manage practice and game schedules for all varsity teams.
- Contact person for all current and prospective facility rental groups. This includes confirming proof of insurance and creating, organizing and distributing all contracts and rental invoices for outside groups.
Varsity Administration and Gameday Operations
- Schedule and maintain all practice times for both indoor and outdoor sports.
- Facilitate all details for team travel.
- Manage all operational aspects of varsity games and tournaments. This includes, but not limited to, attending varsity home games, reconciling gate proceeds, managing staff, troubleshooting and organizing webcast delivery.
- Participate in "UKC Sports Network" program along with School of Journalism
- Responsible for all media during varsity operations, program development, managing studio access, production equipment, staffing, scheduling, brand infrastructure and quality control for all produced content.
- Update and maintain the Athletics page on the King's College website.
- Coordinate with coaches and gear suppliers to order all necessary uniforms, team gear and equipment
Staff Management:
- Direct and manage all gym staff, minor officials and webcasters - roster of approximately 30 casual student staff. This includes the scheduling of the gym desk and game day staff.
- Communicate with Social Media coordinator to ensure appropriate and fresh content is posted.
Education and Experience
- Post-secondary degree required in sports management, physical education, recreation management or a related field
- Minimum 2 years experience working within athletics or facility management.
- An understanding of athletics and varsity sport is required.
- Must have the ability to work in a busy, fast paced environment, both independently and with a group.
- CPR/First Aid or willingness to obtain upon hire.
The start date for the position is Immediate.
Closing Date: August 5, 2025
The starting salary range for this position is $45,143 to $52,672. A comprehensive group benefits package is offered including the option to enrol in the Nova Scotia Public Service Superannuation Plan (PSSP).
