100% in office + work sites, reporting to the designated office

For over 40 years, Eastlink Community TV has played an important role in local television production and programming. Eastlink Community TV provides a voice to many community members and groups in support of a wide variety of community-based initiatives.

The National Content Manager provides a level of expertise and accountability to content acquisition, national scheduling, and playback support. The National Content Manager is primarily responsible for acquiring content for the community channels, managing community partner relationships, enhancing quality control, increasing awareness of the channel, and supporting Master Control playback nation-wide.

Responsibilities:

Content acquisition:

  • Seek out relevant community organizations and individuals to develop effective Local and Access programming;
  • Work with external partners on content acquisition, contract management, and delivery of programs. Including:

? Ensuring high quality programming is obtained that meets CRTC requirements, and is compelling, relevant programming for the community channel

? Management of Agreements associated with content acquisition

? Quality control of all third party programming

? Delivery of programs to Master Control within deadlines

? Scheduling of programs

? Promotional support for third party programming

  • Seek relevant content for programs on a National basis, such as content for Black Films that Teach, Documentary Sunday, and Marathon programming
  • Meet with filmmakers, producers and organizations to build relationships and increase awareness of Eastlink Community TV

National Scheduling

  • Work with team across the country to develop schedules that meet CRTC requirements
  • Look for opportunities to share programs nationally, and build national schedule of selected programs that are relevant in local areas
  • Support promotion of National programs
  • Work closely with producers and the creative team to ensure promotion for all programs.
  • Collaborate with Managers across the country on a regular basis to review schedules and suggest appropriate improvements
  • Create national schedules
  • Assist with CRTC audits
  • Effectively and efficiently communicate all schedules changes
  • Manage all marathon programming, ensuring National consistency where possible

Management:

  • Foster and build positive working relationships within the programming department, corporate partners such as the Marketing Department, media partners, community leaders and elected officials;
  • Actively participate in the management objectives of Eastlink Community TV by acting in a leadership role.
  • Produce reporting of activities on a regular basis as determined in consultation with supervisor
  • Manage staff as assigned
  • Maintain & monitor property (including vehicles) & premises in an appropriate manner and ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards.
  • Coordinate programming and work with Sponsorship Account Executive and Creative Department to support community TV overall goals;
  • Communicate and coordinate with staff and external organizations in regard to activities and scheduling;

Requirements:

  • Post secondary Diploma or degree in Television Production, or, at least 5 years related experience in the Television field
  • Valid driver’s license with excellent driving and workplace safety record.
  • This position may participate on productions as needed.
  • 1-3 years supervisory experience
  • Experience in studio production, ENG/EFP production
  • A solid understanding of Broadcast/Cable Television operations.
  • Knowledge of production equipment, edit suites, studio production and computer graphics
  • Knowledge of CRTC community TV programming regulations and guidelines

  • Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple projects while working within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

  • Able to manage numerous programming developments happening concurrently.
  • Creative and self-motivated with the ability to meet high production standards.
  • Skill & experience with content acquisition, and development & management of Broadcast agreements (contracts),
  • Knowledge of production equipment, edit suites, studio production and computer graphics.
