Investor Relations' mandate is to communicate the Bank's financial performance and strategy to the investment community.
The Senior Manager will support Investor Relations (IR) and play a significant role in the preparation, review and delivery of key deliverables. They will develop and maintain relationships with a number of internal and external stakeholders and will be involved in the day-to-day tasks of the team, which includes ownership of key deliverables and coaching junior members of the team (as applicable).
The Senior Manager role requires strong excel skills including experience with financial modelling and a strong grasp of excel best practices, attention to detail is key given the volume of analysis required, as well as a demonstrated ability to problem solve effectively.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Provide Quarter-End and Year-End Reporting Deliverables
- Contribute to the preparation, review and delivery of the Analyst Presentation, the Marketing Deck, internal quarter-end prep documents, etc.
- Liaise with other departments of the Bank and managing, gathering, compiling, and checking a significant amount of information to ensure the bank's reporting is accurate, consistent and complete.
- Play a key role in tracking estimates and analyzing commentary published by sell-side analysts covering the Bank.
- Play an important role in all competitive analysis that the IR team performs, synthesizing the information both reported by BNS and its peers to assess trends, provide insights, and assess relative outlook.
- Be responsible for analyzing and reviewing research reports and financial statements, summarizing estimates and results, and should be familiar with the terminology, valuation methods, financial statements, and able to assess and distill the information in a concise manner.
- Act in a crucial role for the IR team, preparing briefing materials for the executive management team, as well as understanding external sentiment and expectations.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing meeting materials for the annual rating agency reviews, and throughout the year.
- Maintain relationships with all the major rating agencies.
- Participate in equity and fixed income conferences hosted by internal and external firms. play a key role in the preparation of materials and the logistics required.
- Be tasked with preparing profiles, preparing Q&A materials, reviewing and logging investor list for meetings, managing logistics, the IR website, etc.
- Be responsible for ensuring that the tracking of key data points for the IR Team is complete, accurate and up to date a (i.e., logging meetings/conferences, marketing progress, peer competitive data points, Bloomberg research).
- Regularly engage in ad hoc projects and the incumbent will support in (i.e., maintain the website, perform ad hoc competitive analysis, Board materials, Investor Days, etc.)
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have experience with:
- A strong understanding of financial statements and associated disclosure is needed for all key aspects of the role
- High proficiency with Excel is mandatory (i.e. familiarity with Excel shortcuts and formulas and ability to manipulate data in an efficient and accurate manner (beyond pivot tables, etc.)).
- Familiarity with any of Factset, CapIQ, Thomson ONE, Bloomberg
- Excellent organizational and communication (written, verbal, presentation) skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
- Self-motivated; able to work in a team and independently
- Experience in the Financial Institutions industry is preferred
- Fluency in Spanish is an asset, but not required
