Position: Vice President, Global HR Technology
Purpose
Leads and oversee the Engineering function for Global HR to ensure business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Drives the strategic evolution of the Global HR Technology product ecosystem to the global target state. Acts as the Global Product owner for the HR technology domain, even where day-to-day technology oversight is not fully centralized.
Accountabilities
- As the global product owner for HR Technology, provides guidance and oversight to the development of HR technology solutions throughout Scotiabank, and actively works to move to global platforms. Owns the Global HR Technology strategy and roadmap, with a goal of moving to a single global HR product suite.
- Leads a HR-partner and customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. The purpose of a close relationship is to enable continuous alignment to GHR s operational and strategic priorities.
- Delivery of strategic project, from conception to completion, including design of solutions to resolve GHR/GHRT strategic priorities, funding, resourcing, delivery and on-going support.
- Ensures excellence in the ongoing operations of GHRT, including the management of risk, optimizing reliability, and ensuring issue resolution. This includes delivering on ongoing enhancements, maintaining software currency and security, and compliance to Bank Information Security policies and guidelines.
- Is responsible vendor relationship and management for vendors and contracts owned and managed by GHRT, and ensures all procurement and third party risk management standards are met, and ongoing oversight an governance of relationships is effective.
- As Data System Custodian for HR data (specifically the HR Core Data, Canadian and Caribbean Payroll Data), provides oversight on the technical operational requirements of data management, as defined in the Scotiabank Data Standards for the Global HR data domain. This includes overseeing data assets for the domain, ensuring annual and operational data requirements are met and other accountabilities as defined by the Data Office (see Data Governance Job Descriptions, May 2021).
- Meets budgets and targets for transits projects and cost centres managed and adheres to all Bank standards
- Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
- Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.
Education / Experience
- Professional/university degree in Business
- A degree in Engineering, Computer Science or applied math.
- 10+ years of progressively increasing experience in corporate Information Technology or Human Resource Information technology management (HRIS, HRIT or HRTMS) or Human Resource operations management including data, platform, and system(s) management.
- Fluency in Spanish is an asset.
Working Conditions
- Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Limited travel domestically/globally, as required.
