Job Summary
Reporting to the Provincial Director of Finance, Medical Services, the Provincial Medical Services Finance Manager will be responsible for management and/or coordination financial processes. This will include the interpretation of the MOA between the NLMA and government, financial oversight of physician contracts, bursaries, and incentives, physician payments schedules including salaries, fee for service (FFS) and Alternate Payment Plan (APP), as well as liaising with the Dept. of Health and Community Services and other stakeholders, and the overall financial administration of the department. Medical Services plays an integral role in the provision of medical care in the province. As such, the incumbent must be able to perform functions effectively and exercise discretion and confidentiality in terms of sensitive information.
Job Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have completed a bachelor’s degree in commerce, Business Administration or Accounting and hold a Professional Accounting Designation (CPA). The successful candidate will draw on a minimum 5 years of experience as a CPA and a knowledge of health service management is required. Candidates must have the ability to take a leadership role, have superior organizational skills and have the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have highly developed interpersonal, communication and writing skills, with the ability to develop and sustain alliances with the members of the health care sector, and external stakeholders and agencies.
