Definition of work:We are looking for a Project Manager to join our growing team for the successful execution of projects throughout the Central Zone, while also supporting projects in the Western/Lab-Grenfell as required.
The Project Management and Engineering Team manages a diverse range of projects spanning all disciplines of engineering. Our team works closely with internal stakeholders to develop project scope along with consultant’s and contractors to execute solutions for all healthcare users.
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution and evaluation of major capital and repairs and renovations projects; A core function of this position is communication and collaboration with key stakeholders, both internal and external. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Development of project charters: outlining scope, goals, budget, resources, and timelines.
• Validation and updating of ongoing projects based on financial and scheduling requirements.
• Resolving issues and solving problems throughout project life cycle.
• Measuring, monitoring and reporting on project budget and milestones.
• Manage and engage consultants and others to resolve issues in planning and implementing capital projects.
• Develop and execute open and limited call documents (RFP’s, RFQ’s, GC’s etc.)
• The successful candidate should demonstrate an awareness and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care and a commitment to safety.
Required qualifications:
• Degree or Diploma in Engineering or other technical discipline, or equivalent. demonstrable experience in construction/project coordination or management.
• Strong communication, management and analytic skills.
• Knowledge of building systems (Mech/Elec/Arch), asbestos abatement and building codes.
• Ability to self-prioritize and solve problems under limited timeframes.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Team focused for collaborative success.

• Demonstrate and promote Person and Family-Centered Care.
• Experience in technical software (AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu/Adobe Acrobat, Procore) would be considered an asset.
• Experience in contract administration would be considered an asset.
• A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority.
Preferred qualifications:
• 5 to 10 year’s project management experience and relevant training in estimating, scheduling, construction management, contract law, and project management.
• Member or Eligible for membership in PEGNL.
• LEAN certification and experience within the health care system.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
