Title : Program Assistant-Community Services

Employee Working Location : In-person (St. Catharines, ON)

Employment Status : Temporary Part-Time (12 Months)

Salary Band : $21,436 - $26,793 / year or ($19.63 - $24.54 / hour)

In this role, you will :

  • Responsible for auditing, validating and submitting volunteer reimbursements to Supervisor.
  • Works with Supervisor to accurately report Driver hours in the electronic timecard system.
  • Assists Supervisor with booking and confirming Drivers' schedules.
  • Supports the operations when necessary with data input.
  • Supports multi-site operations remotely when necessary.
  • Gathers information on community programing and resources.
  • Provide program information to clients and/or refer them to appropriate program staff or community partner.
  • Responds to volunteer inquiries and assists with application forms, program information.
  • Engages in retaining volunteers with events, feedback and communication.
  • Support Supervisor to compile monthly reports as required.
  • Reviews and monitors organizational standards of practice to minimize risk to client, volunteer and staff.
  • Supports the Supervisor in facilitating the Driver training.
  • Promotes and encourages staff participation in activities that foster a safer work environment.

What we are looking for :

  • The minimum qualifications for this job are completion of a community college diploma.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Customer Service experience is an asset.
  • Working knowledge standard office procedures and MS Office computer software system.
  • Good organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a Valid G license with not more than 3 demerit points.

Working conditions :

  • Duties are principally conducted at the St Catharines Office of the Canadian Red Cross.
  • Periodic travel within HNHB will be required.
  • Most of the work is performed in an environment which is mostly clean and comfortable.
  • The work can require irregular hours, including week-ends and holidays without notice.
