Facilities Management at Mount Saint Vincent University invites applications for Custodian positions.

Responsabilités

To contribute to the effective operation of the Custodial Division of the Facilities Management Department of Mount Saint Vincent University by maintaining a clean, sanitary, and attractive appearance of campus buildings and facilities. This is accomplished by performing cleaning and maintenance duties in a professional, efficient, proactive and safe manner within the policies and procedures as established by the Department and University.

Responsibilities include daily cleaning of designated areas; recyclable and garbage collection; floor and carpet care; floor maintenance and refinishing; and setting up, moving, or dismantling of furniture. The incumbent also assists with snow and ice removal around entrances, cleaning, and minor maintenance of custodial equipment; and other duties as directed by the department.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a Grade XII education and have at least two years of recent custodial experience, or an equivalent combination. You are also a team player with the ability to perform all duties of the position, communicate effectively and demonstrate a willingness to participate actively in ongoing training. A positive attitude, adaptability, initiative, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential. Preference will be given to candidates with WHMIS certification and experience in the use of industrial cleaning equipment and chemicals. Flexibility in scheduling is a must as these positions require weekend, shift work and overtime.

1 Full-Time IUOE Position (40 hours per week) - $17.32 per hour
Casual Positions (20 to 40 hours per week) - $16.40 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
