The University Relations Department at Mount Saint Vincent University invites applications for the position of Institutional Analyst. The Institutional Analyst is the dedicated university data analysis expert and works with colleagues from across the campus (including but not limited to the Registrar's Office, Student Recruitment and Student Experience) to support data-informed decisions and reporting (in areas including strategic enrolment management, data tracking, reporting and governance and quality assurance).

Responsabilités

The Institutional Analyst provides information, analysis and services that promote and support effective and informed decision making and planning at the Mount. Reporting to the Associate Vice-President University Relations, you will compile, analyze and present data that will be used for planning (in areas such as student enrolment and retention), policy formulation, report writing and decision making by the leadership team. You will also be expected to initiate, research and evaluate projects necessary for a comprehensive understanding of the institution and the issues that impact on its operations. The Institutional Analyst will be part of several committees and working groups (as well as a resource to University departments) and asked to bring together and mine multiple sources of data and input. Responsibilities also include coordinating and completing internal and external surveys. In addition, your statistical knowledge will be called upon when consultation on research and evaluation methodologies is required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree in a field where strong quantitative and qualitative analysis is expected with three years of related experience. Experience in the university sector is preferred. You are strategic in your thinking, detailed in your analysis of data and trends, collaborative in your approach and able to anticipate and plan for what's next. You will be familiar with sampling and data evaluation methodologies and have advanced computer skills that will include a thorough knowledge of data analysis software such as SPSS and Excel. You will also be able to integrate qualitative and quantitative data and have highly developed communication skills that will allow you to make sure your information and conclusions are clearly understood. The successful candidate will be highly organized and able to handle stressful situations and tight deadlines. Candidates should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, and have an aptitude for, or previous experience using, business enterprise systems such as Colleague, Banner, PeopleSoft, etc.

Classification: Full-time MPA Level 5 Position
Salary: $66,454 per annum [Step Progression: $66,454 to $80,851]
