Villa Providence Shediac Inc., a 174 bed long-term care nursing home is currently seeking candidates for the following positions:
License Practical Nurse (LPN)
Permanent full-time and part-time positions available
Looking for unilingual and bilingual candidates
Job summary
Practice within professional responsibilities, code of ethics, legal guidelines and standards of practice;
Provide nursing care to residents ;
Works under the direct supervision of the registered nurse;
Assume a leadership role
Works collaboratively with other care providers to meet the care needs of residents;
Adapts his behaviour and interventions by recognizing that the resident is at home;
Communicates effectively with the multidisciplinary team
An integral part of the organizational team with a vision of improving ongoing care and services to maintain a quality living environment for residents
Compliance with the rules of confidentiality within all aspect of the workplace
Integrate nursing home directives, policies and procedures into the practice of their profession
Participates in Quality of Service and Canadian Accreditation Council activities
LPN applies the nursing home approach within an established scope of practice to develop and coordinate the delivery of care to residents
Acts as a resident advocate.
Qualification and skills required
Current registration with the provincial Licensed Practical Nurse regulatory body
Posses Drug administration certificat ;
Ability to communicate effectively in English and/or French, both orally and in writing
Possess physical and intellectual abilities to meet the requirements of the position
Good previous work history (performance and attendance)
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Salary: Current Collective Agreement Step A ($22.90)
Employment agreement
As a hiring incentive, the employer will pay the amount for the registration fee for the first year with the nursing home under terms and conditions.
In addition, if you work in Shediac, you can have up to $4000 dollars a year for a maximum of 5 years of school loans reimbursed through a federal program (federal program for exoneration of student loans for individuals working in a rural area).
