As Accounting Analyst, you will be a member of the Corporate Finance & Accounting Team and play an important bridge between Payroll & Accounting and others within and outside the company. You will work closely and collaboratively with others to interpret and communicate information from an accounting and non-accounting perspective and by doing so ensure financial transactions are accurately reported. You will also play a key role in preparing quarter and year end audit working papers, responds to audit queries and is the accounting point of contact for Payroll and insurance matters.
What you will be doing:
  • Prepare, review and post payroll journal entries.
  • Reconcile payroll data against financial reports.
  • Analyze payroll data and deliver reports to high-level stakeholder across the organization.
  • Accounting for Corporate Benefits Plan.
  • Review and conduct cost analysis related to the Corporate Benefits Plans.
  • Accounting for Corporate Insurance program including participating in annual renewals of our Insurance Program.
  • Point person for Insurance Broker on audits. Manage the internal process and assist those involved in getting the requested info.
  • Other duties as assigned
What you have:
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA or equivalent)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years progressive accounting experience, ideally with a public reporting company or in public practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Good knowledge of IFRS and internal control concepts.
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • High degree of critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced, high growth environment
  • Experience in a public company is an asset
  • Experience in a sales/distribution company is an asset
