Position Overview:

Working an average of 50 hours per week on jobsites in Northern Ontario, you will be reporting to your supervisor. A Construction Grade Foreman/Surveyor is the link between digital data and site conditions. The responsibility's focus on working with surveying and GPS equipment to provide site layout, gather site information, and generate quantity surveys and reports. The Construction Grade Foreman/Surveyor may be in charge of a crew, directing work, or working alone. Most of the work will be on-site and at times in an office setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare CAD files for instrumentation uploads.
  • Read, understand and follow construction drawings, instructions and specifications.
  • Travel to sites to perform pre-condition and topographical surveys, mark and verify layout, lines, grades and as-builts.
  • Quality control and record keeping of various stages in the construction process.
  • Produce survey, quantity, cut/fill reports, etc. using CAD software.
  • Generate effective construction workflow and/or soil management plans.
  • Lead a crew of workers to execute civil construction projects.
  • Work sites varies to road building, pipe laying, infrastructure installation, site work, office setting, etc.

Requirements / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Engineering Technician
  • Certified Land Surveyor
  • Civil Engineer
  • Survey, GPS, geotechnical and construction experience
  • Team player and willing to share the work
  • Open minded, ambitious, organized
  • Minimum G driver's license
