About the role:

Working in partnership with our client, a Junior Designer will own tasks and projects under the leadership of the Art Director. This is a client-facing hybrid onsite role based in Toronto. You will partner daily with regional teammates across project management, copy, and production.

Reporting to the Art Director, the Junior Designer is part of the wider North America team serving the US and Canada. This is a global account with studios across the world that operate as part of a global network.

What you will be doing:
  • You will consistently deliver a high standard of work as well as collaborate with other members of the design team to maximize creative excellence
  • Effectively manage workloads within agreed timelines
  • Understand and work with brand guidelines as well as create new and original assets from brand creative
  • Work proactively under own initiative and as part of the design team
  • Simultaneously oversee multiple projects for different stakeholders
  • Ensure working files are ordered and neat, that folder structures are adhered to, and that work is saved to the server upon completion
  • Client contact will be required, and you will be expected to participate in creative presentations
  • Ensure that you reflect OLIVER's values at all times, through both your client relationships and your work
  • Collaborate with a team of 5-10
  • Work across various brands within the wine and spirits portfolio
What you need to be great in this role:
  • 2 years of relevant experience in digital, print, motion graphics, web design, UX/UI, artwork and production
  • Experience in CPG (Alcoholic Beverages) preferred
  • Experience working within a portfolio of brands
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite – principally InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Agency experience and client facing experience is essential
  • Ability to work accurately and provide consistent artwork quality and adhere to brand guidelines
  • Experience in management of artwork collateral
  • Accurate and consistent completion of timesheets
  • After Effects and Premiere knowledge is also an advantage
  • Good typographic and compositional skills
  • Evidence, in the form of a portfolio, of your ability to add value across the whole design process, from briefing through to delivery
  • Capacity to build strong and effective working relationships
  • Ambitious, pro-active and naturally curious with a desire to discuss and share ideas
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and the ability to present, justify and provide written rationales for your work
  • A developed and working awareness of all major content platforms
