WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Reporting the Director, Alternative Fuels & Raw Materials, the right bilingual candidate will enable VCNA to build relationships and a value-creating business model within the waste management industry in Eastern Ontario and Quebec.

This role can work from any location, and requires up to 50% travel between Bowmanville, ON and Port Daniel-Gascon QC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support sustainability with the organizational stakeholders, waste market and associations, and the development of technologies and production practices oriented towards sustainable production
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential partners including customers, partner companies, community leaders, utilities and manufacturers.
  • Build alternative fuels commercial development and seek materials that improve overall cost
  • Be a cross-functional participant in support of VCNA AFR program with Cement Operations on research and development of alternative fuels and raw materials usage.
  • Master and maintain detailed knowledge of the business, competition, and latest industry news and trends
  • Adhere to VCNA corporate policies including but not limited to safety, environmental, legal, human resources and sustainability

Qualifications:

  • Strong commercial and waste industry knowledge as it relates to AFR
  • Proven to be strong at interacting and communicating with various levels within the organization and with externa; clients/customer of all levels
  • Negotiation skills as it relates to sales of AFR services
  • Proven track record in tangible results, specifically AFR value creation
  • Bilingual English/French a must
