The Opportunity

1-800-GOT-JUNK? is looking for a Product Manager to join our growing team on a 12 month contract!

As part of the Innovation and Transformation team, you will lead innovation for products that support our 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise system across Canada, USA, and Australia. You are passionate about solving underlying problems to drive business results through working collaboratively with designers, developers, and stakeholders. You get excited by understanding your user deeply to discover novel ways to solve problems and add value for those users.

The Role:

The Product Manager is accountable for developing and maintaining a roadmap for their assigned platform. They bridge the gap between business needs/objectives and their platforms current and future capabilities. Working collaboratively with Product Owners, Architects, and Business Analysts and the Platform Vendor, they lead the solutioning process and are the glue that holds the technology teams and solutions to the business and its customers.

A Day In The Life:

  • Guide the business and brands through product innovation, prototype, validation, and development of the Product Managers assigned product.
  • Work collaboratively with Brands, developers, architects, and external stakeholders to drive successful outcomes for strategic initiatives and ongoing improvement themes.
  • Drive customer and market research, identify opportunities and work with Product Owners in Brands to help best deliver on strategy and long-term vision.
  • Establish a framework to allow for dynamic reporting that assists when assessing a feature.
  • Leverage data points to paint a picture when it comes to prioritization, aligning work to a brand's strategy and vision, and assessing business value.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of understanding of the customer and end-user of the product you are responsible for to ensure innovation and value are optimized for the brands.
  • Understand through research, building an understanding of how our businesses operate what contributes to customer/end-user success (i.e. frustration, conversion, adoption)
  • Leverage quantitative data and product advancements to drive solutions, innovation, and decision making.
  • Regular communication with senior stakeholders about approved development, status updates, and proposed timings for development phases

What You Bring To The Table:

  • Strong track record of delivering amazing digital experiences for front line users that are responsible for providing exceptional experiences to customers (including mobile apps, payment integrations, salesforce integration)
  • Experience managing a combination of internal resources and third party vendors all coming together seamlessly to achieve exceptional results
  • Strong examples of partnering directly with users to validate usability at each stage; genuine ability to put yourself in the customers/end-user shoes and operate from a place of empathy
  • Experience managing product roadmaps and connecting them to company objectives, strategic initiatives, and business value
  • Demonstrable experience defining success metrics for products/features and managing against them
  • Ability to thrive and deliver while surrounded by competing priorities and ambiguity
  • Experience and willingness to “find answers”, insights and data from a variety of sources i.e. data analytics, research fostering a culture of data-informed decision making
  • Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders about development priorities and deliverables, status updates, and proposed timings for development phases for development phases

Compensation And Benefits:

  • Salary 95,000K - 115,000K per annum (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
