Pocketed is hiring a Head of Sales to drive our continued growth!

Pocketed is a rapidly growing software startup that helps businesses across North America access billions of dollars in ‘free money' through grants, tax credits, and incentives. We're a female-founded, female-led company with a bold vision: to give entrepreneurs the power to create and build businesses without financial barriers. Today, more than 13,000 businesses use Pocketed to access over $100M in grant funding and tax credits to extend their runway and achieve their growth goals.

We grew revenue almost 5x last year – and we are looking for a sales leader to help us capitalize on our current momentum and build a more scalable sales process.

As a Head of Sales, you will be part of our leadership team helping to drive Pocketed's growth strategy. Working closely with our co-founders (CEO and CTO) and leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing sales strategies, leading our sales team, identifying new business opportunities, and building strong relationships with clients. This position reports directly to the CEO and requires a hands-on approach to sales, sales management, and team development. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully building repeatable sales processes for B2B SaaS and/or SaaS-enabled service startups. Alongside our small and mighty team, your efforts will drive Pocketed's mission of removing financial barriers for entrepreneurs.

Your Key Responsibilities:

As Pocketed's Head of Sales, you are responsible for developing a repeatable sales process and managing our sales team to achieve ambitious targets:

1. Team Leadership and Development:

  • Contribute as part of the leadership team, helping to establish and drive growth strategy.
  • Create and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with company goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to drive performance and exceed targets.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning within the sales organization.
  • Manage and allocate resources effectively to ensure the team's success.
2. Analytics and Reporting:
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) on a quarterly basis. Report headwinds, tailwinds, and insights.
  • Provide regular (minimum monthly) reports and insights on sales performance, pipeline, and forecasts to the executive team, highlighting success and areas for improvement.
3. Sales Strategy
  • Establish sales processes, metrics, and KPIs to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate and optimize sales channels, pricing strategies, and go-to-market approaches to maximize profitability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and customer success teams to align sales efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Identify market trends, competitive insights, and customer needs to inform product development and sales strategies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge in the market.

4. Sales

  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders to drive revenue growth and maximize opportunities.
  • Support sales team in sales meetings with key customers.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand the customer base and achieve sales objectives.

Your Qualifications:

  • You have a proven track record of success in B2B software sales, with at least 3 years of experience in a senior sales leadership role (working in B2B is great, but knowing how to apply what you've done is even more important!).
  • Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment is highly desirable.
  • You think strategically, with a results-driven mindset and a focus on execution.
  • You have strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a high-performing sales team.
  • You give a damn about creating impact and delivering experiences that delight, so you want to be part of (and contribute to) a performance-oriented culture. You understand that culture is only as strong as the sum of its parts, and you're all in on contributing positively.
  • You have an analytic mindset with the ability to leverage data to drive informed decision-making.
  • You have a deep understanding of sales methodologies, CRM systems, and sales automation tools.
  • You have exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • You're radically independent, resourceful, and a driven problem-solver (
