The Fraser Valley Child Development Centre is a community based organization providing innovative, strength based, family centered services to children, youth and their families on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Stó:lō and Nlaka'pamux peoples. POSITION TYPE: Permanent, Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Department Leader, the Infant/Child Development Consultants (ICDC) are foundational in developing safe therapeutic relationships with families of children with diverse abilities and orient them to services provided at the Fraser Valley Child Development Centre. Consultants walk alongside families to help them notice their child's abilities and areas of growth, and collectively with the family, help them to identify priorities to support the child's participation within their daily routines and activities in all settings including at home and in the community. Consultants empower parents, caregivers, and educators in fostering children's social and emotional development, through responsive caregiving skills that help to build healthier and more resilient brains for the future.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Degree in an area related to early childhood development.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in the field of pediatric disabilities
  • Training and experience in working with families
  • Valid BC driver's license with reliable use of a car for work
