Sewing Machine Operator (Drapery & Curtains)

We are looking for an experienced Sewing Machine Operator with a strong background in drapery, curtains, and custom window coverings. The ideal candidate should be comfortable operating industrial sewing machines, working with different types of fabrics, and producing high-quality finished products according to measurements and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch, hem, and assemble curtains, drapes, and other fabric products.

• Measure, cut, and prepare fabrics according to customer specifications.

• Sew custom drapery, including pleated curtains, lined drapes, and decorative window coverings.

• Work with different materials, including cotton, polyester, velvet, linen, and blackout fabrics.

• Perform straight stitching, hemming, overlocking, and other sewing techniques.

• Attach linings, hooks, tapes, and other drapery accessories.

• Read and follow measurements, patterns, and production instructions.

• Inspect finished products to ensure accurate stitching, proper sizing, and quality standards.

• Maintain sewing machines and perform basic troubleshooting when required.

• Meet daily production targets while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating industrial sewing machines.

• Previous experience in drapery, curtain manufacturing, or custom window coverings is strongly preferred.

• Experience operating single-needle, double-needle, and overlock sewing machines.

• Strong knowledge of fabric measurement, cutting, hemming, and stitching techniques.

• Ability to work with heavy and delicate fabrics.

• Good attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.

• Experience with custom drapery pleating and finishing is an asset.

Preferred Skills

• Pinch pleat, ripple fold, and French pleat sewing experience.

• Experience working with blackout curtains and lined drapery.

• Knowledge of industrial fabric cutting and measuring equipment.

• Experience in upholstery or other textile manufacturing is an asset.
