Senior Financial Analyst, Supply Chain FinanceWork Setup: On site | Vaughan, ONAbout the Opportunity

Behind every strong business decision is a clear understanding of the numbers, the operational realities, and the opportunities for improvement. We are partnering with an established, large-scale organization to identify a Senior Financial Analyst to support its Supply Chain function. This is an opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys going beyond the numbers to understand business performance, influence decisions, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and financial outcomes.

Working closely with Finance and Supply Chain leadership, you will play an important role in financial planning, performance analysis, cost management, and strategic decision support. You will also provide guidance to a team of finance professionals and collaborate with stakeholders across the business to turn financial insights into meaningful action. This role is well suited to someone who combines strong analytical capabilities with sound business judgment, understands the financial drivers of operational performance, and is comfortable working in a complex, fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Manager, Finance, you will support financial performance across Supply Chain operations, with responsibilities spanning budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cost analysis, capital investment, inventory productivity, and working capital management.

You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate business performance, identify risks and opportunities, and develop recommendations that support operational effectiveness and long-term business objectives.

The role offers a balance of hands-on financial analysis, strategic business partnership, and team leadership responsibilities, making it a strong fit for someone ready to apply their financial expertise in a broader operational context.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Financial Planning & Strategic Analysis

  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes for the Supply Chain function.
  • Analyze financial and operational performance to identify opportunities for cost optimization, productivity improvements, and process efficiencies.
  • Develop financial models, business cases, and investment analyses to support Supply Chain initiatives and network optimization.
  • Review monthly expenditures, investigate variances, and recommend actions to maintain alignment with budgetary objectives.
  • Assess business risks and opportunities, providing clear, actionable recommendations to support decision-making.

Financial Reporting & Performance Management

  • Lead monthly and quarterly financial close activities while maintaining strong accounting controls and reporting accuracy.
  • Monitor and analyze key Supply Chain cost drivers, including transportation, distribution, labour, occupancy, and inventory-related expenses.
  • Track financial and operational metrics to support productivity, profitability, and cost management objectives.
  • Forecast expenditures, capital requirements, and productivity savings, communicating results and trends to leadership.
  • Provide financial reporting, inventory analysis, working capital insights, and return-on-investment assessments.

Business Partnership & Operational Support

  • Build effective working relationships with Supply Chain, Operations, Merchandising, Technology, and Finance teams.
  • Serve as a trusted finance partner, translating complex financial data into practical insights for business stakeholders.
  • Support distribution centre, transportation, inventory, fulfilment, and network optimization initiatives through financial analysis and decision support.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to resolve business challenges, improve operational effectiveness, and strengthen financial performance.
  • Help align financial priorities with operational goals through clear communication and thoughtful analysis.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and development support to finance team members.
  • Plan, monitor, and review team activities to support accuracy, accountability, and timely delivery.
  • Contribute to hiring recommendations, performance management, succession planning, and professional development.
  • Encourage continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and effective collaboration across the team.
What You'll Bring

You are an analytical and business-oriented finance professional who understands how financial performance connects to operational decisions. You are comfortable working with detailed data, but equally confident explaining what the results mean and recommending what should happen next.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • A CPA designation, MBA, or equivalent professional qualification is considered an asset.
  • Strong experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and performance management.
  • Experience supporting Supply Chain, distribution, logistics, transportation, inventory management, or broader operations.
  • Strong financial modelling, quantitative analysis, and data interpretation skills.
  • A solid understanding of operational cost drivers, capital planning, inventory productivity, and working capital management.
  • Experience providing guidance to colleagues or leading, coaching, and developing team members.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities, complex projects, and tight reporting deadlines.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to make financial information clear and relevant to non-finance stakeholders.
  • The ability to build relationships, influence decisions, and work effectively with stakeholders at various levels.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to identifying opportunities, resolving issues, and improving business performance.
What Will Help You Succeed

You are naturally curious about how a business operates and enjoy understanding the factors behind its financial results. You can connect the detail to the bigger picture, challenge assumptions constructively, and communicate recommendations with clarity and confidence. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, balancing competing priorities, and working across functions to solve problems. You also recognize that effective finance partnership is built on credibility, collaboration, and a willingness to understand the needs of the business.

Most importantly, you take ownership of your work and look for ways to make financial analysis more useful, relevant, and actionable.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This role offers the chance to apply your financial expertise in a complex operating environment where your analysis can directly influence business decisions and operational performance.
