$85,000–$100,000 annually | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8 hour days

This is not a traditional hospital or acute-care nursing role. At Lakeview Recovery Community, you'll have the opportunity to build relationships with clients, lead and mentor a dedicated medical team, and have a voice in how medical services, practices, and processes continue to develop. You'll work alongside nurses, paramedics, visiting physicians, pharmacists, recovery professionals, and operational leadership within a community focused on helping individuals build sustainable lives in recovery.

We welcome applications from Registered Nurses and experienced Licensed Practical Nurses. LPN candidates must have experience in addiction, mental health, recovery, or a related setting.

For eligible RNs interested in advancing their practice, Lakeview Recovery Community may provide financial and organizational support toward completion of a recognized Nurse Practitioner program, subject to the terms of an educational support agreement.

At Lakeview Recovery Community, located in Gunn, Alberta, we support men over the age of 18 from across the province on their journey toward sustainable recovery from addiction. Through a full continuum of addiction recovery services, we focus on healing, personal growth, healthy relationships, and helping individuals develop the skills, tools, and resources needed to maintain long-term wellness and recovery.

Role-Specific Accountabilities:

Leadership & Oversight

• Provide leadership, mentorship, and coordination to the nursing team and paramedics.
• Collaborate with the visiting physician, pharmacist, and interdisciplinary teams to support continuity and quality of care.
• Work closely with the Executive Director and operational leadership to align medical services with organizational objectives and client care goals.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, orientation, scheduling coordination, and performance development for medical staff.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory bodies, including CRNA, CLPNA, Alberta College of Paramedics, and internal clinical standards.

Medical Practice

• Maintain an active medical presence and provide direct client care within scope of practice as required.
• Support assessments, medication management processes, documentation standards, wellness monitoring, and emergency response procedures.
• Assist with continuity-of-care planning and coordination with external healthcare providers and community partners.

Program, Policy & Quality Development

• Participate in the development and implementation of medical policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Monitor medical quality indicators, client outcomes, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Ensure appropriate documentation, record keeping, and confidentiality practices in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
• Participate in audits, accreditation activities, incident reviews, and quality assurance initiatives.

Operational & Administrative

• Coordinate medical scheduling and coverage needs in collaboration with leadership.
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation and provide support outside regular hours as operationally required.
• Monitor inventory and supply needs for medical-related items.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in good standing with the applicable regulatory body, or eligible for registration in Alberta.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare, medical services, addiction recovery, mental health, community health, emergency medical services, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or program coordination experience in a healthcare or community-based environment.
• LPN candidates must have demonstrated experience in addiction recovery, mental health, trauma-informed care, residential treatment, or a related setting. This experience is considered an asset but is not required for RN candidates.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medication management, health assessments, documentation standards, and healthcare compliance practices.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent judgement and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records, healthcare documentation systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement of employment.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and ability to travel between Alberta program locations as required.

Conditions of Employment

• Successfully complete and pass a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Record Check prior to initiating employment and annually thereafter.
• Maintain all required professional registrations, certifications, and liability coverage applicable to the role.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call support, as operationally required.
