Senior Interior Designer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join a collaborative design team working on sophisticated, large-scale interior design projects. The successful candidate will combine strong creative and technical skills with the ability to lead projects, manage client relationships, and mentor junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead interior design projects from concept through construction administration.
  • Develop creative concepts, space plans, FF&E selections, and client presentations.
  • Present design concepts and recommendations directly to clients.
  • Manage multiple complex projects, timelines, budgets, and priorities.
  • Lead and mentor Junior and Intermediate Designers and Technologists.
  • Review design and technical documentation, including plans, elevations, and details.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes and construction standards.
  • Work closely with Technologists, consultants, contractors, and clients throughout project delivery.
  • Support tendering, construction documentation, site reviews, addenda, deficiencies, and contract administration.
  • Monitor project scope, hours, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Identify project risks, scope changes, and design issues and communicate them to leadership.
  • Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and professional development to team members.
Qualifications
  • 8–10+ years of professional Interior Design experience.
  • Strong background in hospitality and/or multi-unit residential; retail experience is an asset.
  • Experience with mid- to large-scale, complex projects.
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring design teams.
  • Strong understanding of interior design, construction, and building codes.
  • Excellent client communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related discipline.
Technical Skills
  • AutoCAD
  • Revit
  • Microsoft Office
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • SketchUp and/or Bluebeam – assets
Additional Assets: NCIDQ, BCIN, LEED accreditation, and professional association membership.
Compensation $80,000–$100,000 base salary + benefits, depending on experience.
