What You'll Learn

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll build practical skills that create the foundation for a long-term career in residential HVAC, including:

  • Residential heating and cooling system maintenance
  • Duct cleaning and indoor air quality services
  • HVAC system diagnostics and safety inspections
  • Preventative maintenance best practices
  • Customer communication and education
  • Safe work procedures and industry standards

What You'll Do

Technical Expertise and Maintenance Execution

  • Perform duct cleaning and preventive maintenance on residential furnaces and central air conditioning units
  • Follow standardized procedures and checklists to ensure consistent service quality
  • Maintain a high level of technical knowledge on systems, components, and manufacturer guidelines
  • Ensure maintenance tools, equipment, and materials are clean, calibrated, and ready for use

Customer Satisfaction and Communication

  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding the work completed and any system observations
  • Educate customers on the importance of regular maintenance and any system best practices
  • Maintain a courteous, professional, and respectful demeanor in all customer interactions

Revenue Generation and Sales

  • Identify and document potential upgrade opportunities or emerging issues requiring follow-up by service or sales teams
  • Educate customers on available maintenance/membership plans
  • Generate leads for service, replacement, or add-on work and route them to the appropriate department

Safety Compliance and Continuous Improvement

  • Perform pre-task hazard assessments and adhere strictly to all safety protocols
  • Use required PPE
  • Participate in safety meetings, reviews, and ongoing training.
  • Offer suggestions for improving maintenance processes and workplace safety.

Reporting and Knowledge Sharing

  • Document equipment condition, system performance, and any items needing follow-up.
  • Share system knowledge, best practices, and site-specific notes with team members.
  • Assist in training new hires or apprentices on maintenance procedures, when required.
  • Accurately complete and submit all forms including maintenance reports, inspections, checklists etc.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for people who are eager to learn, take pride in their work, and want to build a long-term career.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • A valid Class 5 driver's license with a minimum of three years' driving experience and a clean driver's abstract.
  • Eligibility to register as an apprentice and attend trade school
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
