Continuous Improvement Project Leader

Location: Belleville, Ontario

Compensation: Approximately $100,000–$130,000 annually

Relocation Assistance: Available

Industry: Automotive / Advanced Lighting / Electronics Manufacturing

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on Continuous Improvement role focused on implementation and measurable results, not simply maintaining Lean dashboards or facilitating improvement meetings.

You will own improvement projects from problem identification through analysis, business case development, implementation and sustained results.

Working directly with Operations, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance, you will identify opportunities to improve manufacturing performance, build the case for change and help implement solutions on the plant floor.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead high-impact Continuous Improvement projects across manufacturing, quality, engineering, maintenance and logistics.
  • Identify opportunities related to scrap, rework, cycle time, throughput, first-pass yield, labour efficiency, equipment uptime, changeovers, material flow and manufacturing cost.
  • Take projects from problem definition and root-cause analysis through implementation and sustained results.
  • Develop project charters, timelines, KPIs, financial justification and implementation plans.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S and statistical analysis to manufacturing challenges.
  • Facilitate cross-functional problem-solving and improvement initiatives.
  • Support production-line design, equipment improvements, process-layout optimization and new-product industrialization.
  • Establish standardized work and systems that ensure improvements remain in place.
  • Quantify project savings and validate financial and operational results after implementation.
  • Coach leaders and employees in Lean, Six Sigma and structured problem-solving methods.

The Manufacturing Environment

The operation supports increasingly sophisticated automotive lighting and electronic manufacturing, creating opportunities to improve both established processes and newer advanced-manufacturing technologies.

Experience in any of the following would be particularly valuable:

  • Electronics, PCB / PCBA or SMT manufacturing
  • LED products and electronic subassemblies
  • Automated assembly and electrical testing
  • Vision inspection and traceability systems
  • High-volume automated manufacturing

What You'll Bring

  • Approximately 7+ years of progressive manufacturing, engineering or Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Proven experience personally leading significant improvement projects from problem identification through implementation and measurable results.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt strongly preferred.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis, Value Stream Mapping, standardized work, Kaizen and process capability.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Electronics, electrical assembly, PCBA/SMT, LED or other advanced-manufacturing experience is a significant asset.
  • Experience developing financial justification and calculating project savings.
  • Strong project-management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without relying on direct authority.
  • Comfortable working directly with engineers, plant leadership, supervisors and production employees on the manufacturing floor.

Education

Post-secondary education in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Operations Management, Engineering Technology or a related discipline is preferred.

Equivalent manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience will also be considered.

Who Will Succeed Here

You see a manufacturing problem and want to understand why it is happening, what the data is showing and how to improve it permanently.

You are comfortable challenging established processes, building a case for change and working across departments to turn recommendations into implemented solutions.

Most importantly, you want to be able to look back at a production line and see measurable improvement because of a project you took from problem to execution.

About the Opportunity

Our client is an established automotive manufacturing organization in Belleville with a long history in automotive lighting and an increasing focus on electronics, advanced lighting and next-generation vehicle technologies.

The company name and additional details about the operation will be shared during the initial conversation with qualified candidates.

Our goal is to use technology responsibly while maintaining fairness, transparency, and respect throughout the recruitment process.

Use of Artificial Intelligence by Candidates

We recognize that candidates may use AI tools to support their job search, such as refining writing style, preparing application materials, or conducting research. While this can be appropriate, all information provided in resumes, screening questions, and interviews must be truthful and accurately reflect your own experience, knowledge, and competencies.

AI should never be used to create or exaggerate credentials, experience, or qualifications. Our goal is to understand the real you, your skills, your story, and your potential, so we can make the best possible match between you and the organization we serve.
