WHO WE ARE
NAOS North America is looking for a Head of Field Medical– U.S. to lead the execution and performance of the U.S. medical field organization for Bioderma and Institut Esthederm.
This hands-on leadership role combines people management, field execution, account development and scientific engagement. The Head of Field Medical will lead and coach the U.S. medical field team, strengthen relationships with dermatologists, healthcare professionals, KOLs and strategic medical accounts, and ensure consistent execution of NAOS' medical priorities across the U.S.
The role directly manages 2 Medical Account Executives and the Medical Activation Manager. In partnership with the Medical Activation Manager, who leads medical programs, tools, analytics and activation planning, the Head of Field Medical is accountable for field adoption, execution quality, team performance and account impact.
Approximately 30% of the role will be dedicated to direct Medical Representative responsibilities within the territory where the Head of Field Medical is based. In this capacity, the Head of Field Medical will directly manage and develop a portfolio of dermatologists, HCPs and medical accounts, ensuring first-hand connection to field realities and demonstrating best-in-class field execution.
WHO WE LOOK FOR
- 5+ years of experience in medical affairs, medical sales, pharmaceutical, dermatology, dermocosmetics or a related healthcare environment.
- Proven experience managing, coaching and developing field teams.
- Strong hands-on experience in territory management, HCP engagement and account development.
- Strong experience engaging dermatologists, HCPs, KOLs and strategic healthcare accounts.
- Strong combination of scientific credibility, business acumen and leadership skills.
- Results-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, territory-management and account-development capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategy and priorities into effective field execution.
- Strong coaching and performance-management capabilities.
- Comfortable balancing leadership responsibilities with direct field execution.
- Comfortable operating across Medical, Sales and Marketing functions.
- Strong communication, relationship-building and influencing skills.
- Scientific background in biology, pharmacy, life sciences or a related discipline preferred.
- Experience in dermatology or dermocosmetics strongly preferred.
- Ability to travel frequently within the U.S.
- French proficiency is an asset.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Key Responsibilities
Field Medical Leadership
- Translate U.S. medical priorities into clear field objectives, territory priorities and account plans.
- Lead execution across territories and ensure consistent, high-quality HCP engagement.
- Strengthen NAOS' scientific credibility and presence within the dermatology community.
- Identify field opportunities, barriers and emerging needs, and bring these insights into cross-functional decision-making.
Team Management & Coaching
- Directly manage and develop 2 Medical Account Executives and the Medical Activation Manager.
- Set clear objectives, priorities and performance expectations.
- Conduct regular field coaching, account reviews and development planning.
- Build a high-performing, collaborative and accountable medical field team.
Direct Territory Management – Approx. 30%
- Manage a portfolio of dermatologists, HCPs, clinics and medical accounts within the assigned territory.
- Conduct regular scientific detailing, sampling, educational activities and account follow-up.
- Develop new healthcare accounts and strengthen existing relationships.
- Drive awareness, recommendation, prescription and dispensing within the territory.
- Serve as a role model for strong territory management and field execution.
Field Execution & Account Development
- Lead the deployment and adoption of medical programs and tools developed with the Medical Activation Manager.
- Support Medical Account Executives in territory planning, account development and prioritization.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with strategic dermatology groups and key medical accounts.
- Provide structured field feedback to improve programs, tools and future activation plans.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to ensure coordinated execution across priority accounts.
KOL & Scientific Engagement
- Own and strengthen relationships with priority dermatologists, KOLs and strategic medical partners.
- Identify emerging KOLs and partnership opportunities.
- Ensure effective field engagement before, during and after congresses, advisory boards and peer-to-peer programs.
- Represent NAOS with key dermatology stakeholders and strengthen its scientific visibility in the U.S.
Field Performance & Insights
- Monitor territory, account and Medical Account Executive performance.
- Review dashboards and insights developed with the Medical Activation Manager.
- Use performance data to optimize targeting, coaching and account plans.
- Translate field observations into actionable recommendations for Medical, Sales and Marketing.
- Provide field input into investment and resource allocation decisions.
Training & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Identify field training and capability needs through coaching and field observation.
- Partner with Training and the Medical Activation Manager to ensure teams have the right scientific tools and knowledge.
- Reinforce adoption of medical narratives and programs through ongoing coaching.
- Collaborate closely with Global Medical, Sales, Marketing, Training, Finance, Data and Digital teams.
