Position Overview

Lambert Nemec Group, Winnipeg's leader in Permanent Accounting & Finance Recruitment, has partnered with our client, a high-growth, Winnipeg-based organization, to recruit a highly analytical and business-savvy Director of FP&A. The Director of FP&A will be responsible for a broad range of responsibilities including but not limited to owning the annual business planning and budgeting cycle, building out forecasting and scenario modelling capabilities, developing performance dashboards and KPIs, and partnering closely with business unit leaders across the organization. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is looking for a role with strong visibility to senior leadership, given the exceptional cross-functional exposure this opportunity provides.

Responsibilities:

The Director of FP&A is responsible to:

• Administer the annual budgeting cycle and maintain a regular cadence of in-year monthly forecasting.
• Oversee financial planning processes and systems across the organization.
• Partner with business unit leaders to build and maintain planning models, run scenario analyses, and prepare forecasts.
• Analyze and report on financial and operational results to provide senior leadership with insight into business performance.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs, including tracking of variances to plan and progress on cost-saving and revenue initiatives.
• Communicate the drivers behind business unit performance and results directly to senior leadership.
• Provide detailed analysis and commentary on results, partnering directly with departmental leaders on their numbers.
• Evaluate historical budget and spending trends to inform future planning cycles.
• Provide insight to senior leadership on financial modelling, forecasting, and profitability.

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Canadian accounting designation, CPA (CA, CGA, CMA) or CFA required.
• 5+ years of progressive financial planning & analysis experience, or relevant analytical experience gained within a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Experience working within a larger, multi-divisional organization.
• Highly proficient in Excel and business intelligence tools, with experience across enterprise financial systems.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to problem-solve complex issues.
• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and engage with people at all levels across the organization.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a high tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to manage a large volume of competing priorities.• This is a fully in-office opportunity
