We manufacture innovative grain handling equipment, industrial conveyance systems, U-Drain™ floor drainage systems, and Haul-All Trailers that serve customers across North America.We're looking for a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our growing Trailer Shop team. If you take pride in fabricating and assembling quality products from blueprints, enjoy working in a collaborative manufacturing environment, and value safety and craftsmanship, we'd love to hear from you.What You'll DoAs a Welder, you'll manufacture and weld quality components while helping maintain the high standards Norstar is known for.Your responsibilities include:Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specificationsMeasure, fit, align, and tack components prior to weldingPerform MIG (GMAW) welding on fabricated assembliesEnsure proper fit-up, alignment, and dimensional accuracy before final weldingPerform quality inspections to ensure finished products meet Norstar standardsUpdate production progress using ShopTrakGrind and finish welds to produce quality workmanshipMove materials using overhead cranes, forklifts, or by hand when requiredMaintain welding equipment and keep your work area clean and organizedReport quality concerns and production issues promptlyParticipate in cross-training and team meetingsFollow all company safety policies and quality standards at all timesWhat We're Looking ForPrevious experience as a Welder/Fitter or in a similar fabrication roleStrong MIG welding experienceAbility to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprintsExperience fitting, measuring, and assembling steel components before weldingAbility to use measuring tools and maintain tight tolerancesManufacturing or heavy fabrication experience is an assetStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityComfortable working independently and as part of a teamAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Welding helmet and steel-toe safety boots requiredWillingness to work overtime when neededWhat Success Looks LikeAccurately fit, align, and weld assemblies that meet blueprint specifications with minimal rework.Consistently produce high-quality welds that meet Norstar's quality standards.Read and interpret fabrication drawings confidently and independently.Meet production goals while maintaining a safe and organized work area.Collaborate effectively with teammates to keep production moving efficiently.Why Join Norstar?Competitive hourly wage of $25.00-$29.00, based on experienceFour-day work week with three-day weekendsComprehensive benefits packageStable, family-owned manufacturing companyOpportunities for training, advancement, and professional growthTeam-oriented culture focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvementAt Norstar, we believe exceptional products are built by exceptional people.
