Join our Wildfire Security team and help protect communities, critical infrastructure, and emergency response operations across Western and Northern Canada.Scarlet Security and Risk Group (SSRG) is seeking experienced, licensed Security Personnel for remote deployments in BC, Alberta, Yukon and NWT. Our diverse, highly qualified team members and relentless commitment to excellence create superior results for our clients.Rural and remote Wildfire Security Officers assist local authorities with safety, security and emergency response when wildfires threaten homes, ranches, industries and communities. This includes control, restricting and logging access to wildfire areas to ensure only authorized persons enter and to prevent theft from unattended properties.ResponsibilitiesWorking at checkpoints or camps, with minimal guidanceWildfire perimeter access control including recording visitors coming and going from checkpointsChecking all vehicles entering/departing restricted areasChecking passes that have been issued by the local authorities (e.g. Regional District)Assisting law enforcement as required, including at checkpointsCooperating with local EOC and other first responders and agencies at incident scenesAssistance with evacuations of people, livestock and propertyCoaching new members when requiredRequirementsValid Security Worker Licence in at least one of BC, Yukon, Alberta Class 5 driver's licenceMust have a minimum of 2 years of security service or related experienceLaw enforcement background (police, military, sheriff, corrections) preferredExceptional written and spoken English communication skillsGood physical fitnessAdditional InformationOn-call, casual basis. This role involves remote deployments across Western and Northern Canada, including BC, Alberta, Yukon and NWT, with on-call, casual assignments and possible multi-week deployments.
Deployments are 12-hour shifts on an on-call, casual basis with no guaranteed hours, and shifts may vary or extend to multi-week deployments.
The compensation is $45.00 per hour based on experience and deployment, with additional per diem, mileage, and travel time paid.
Responsibilities include working at checkpoints or camps, recording visitors, checking vehicles and passes, assisting law enforcement, cooperating with first responders, and aiding evacuations when needed.
A valid Security Worker Licence in BC, Yukon, or Alberta, a Class 5 driver’s license, and a minimum of 2 years of security experience are required; law enforcement background is preferred.
Accommodation is provided depending on deployment, and mileage and travel time are paid.
