Line Cook

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Line Cook to join the culinary team at House of McGrath. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, works well in a fast-paced kitchen, and takes pride in preparing high-quality dishes consistently and efficiently. This role supports daily kitchen operations by preparing menu items to recipe specifications, maintaining food safety standards, and helping ensure a smooth service experience for guests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
• Set up and stock assigned stations before service.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of all work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, and safety procedures at all times.
• Assist with prep work, including chopping, portioning, and ingredient preparation.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate order execution.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and consistency throughout service.
• Support the Executive Chef and kitchen team as needed during busy periods.
• Adhere to all company policies and health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a line cook, cook, or in a similar kitchen role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical kitchen tasks.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if required.
• A positive attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
