Schedule: Monday to Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

About the Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established non-profit organization (NGO) located in North York. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Generalist looking to join a mission-driven organization offering long-term career growth. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day HR operations while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations and labour relations matters.
  • Interpret and apply Ontario employment legislation, HR best practices, and organizational policies.
  • Develop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, and workplace initiatives.
  • Support performance management, employee engagement, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.
  • Manage all Leaves of Absence (LOA), Return-to-Work (RTW) programs, and WSIB claims.
  • Maintain confidential employee records and HR documentation.
  • Support payroll administration with knowledge of payroll tax legislation, statutory deductions, and payroll compliance.
  • Coordinate employee benefits and workplace accommodations.
  • Ensure compliance with Employment Standards, Occupational Health & Safety legislation, and internal policies.
  • Prepare HR reports, documentation, and other administrative duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of Human Resources Generalist or HR Specialist experience.
  • Strong knowledge of labour relations, Ontario employment law, and HR policies and procedures.
  • Experience managing LOA, RTW, and WSIB claims.
  • Knowledge of payroll tax legislation, payroll compliance, and statutory remittances.
  • CHRP designation is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
