About the Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established non-profit organization (NGO) located in North York. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Generalist looking to join a mission-driven organization offering long-term career growth. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day HR operations while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and support on employee relations and labour relations matters.
- Interpret and apply Ontario employment legislation, HR best practices, and organizational policies.
- Develop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, and workplace initiatives.
- Support performance management, employee engagement, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.
- Manage all Leaves of Absence (LOA), Return-to-Work (RTW) programs, and WSIB claims.
- Maintain confidential employee records and HR documentation.
- Support payroll administration with knowledge of payroll tax legislation, statutory deductions, and payroll compliance.
- Coordinate employee benefits and workplace accommodations.
- Ensure compliance with Employment Standards, Occupational Health & Safety legislation, and internal policies.
- Prepare HR reports, documentation, and other administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of Human Resources Generalist or HR Specialist experience.
- Strong knowledge of labour relations, Ontario employment law, and HR policies and procedures.
- Experience managing LOA, RTW, and WSIB claims.
- Knowledge of payroll tax legislation, payroll compliance, and statutory remittances.
- CHRP designation is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
