Position Summary
Reporting to the Claims Team Manager, you will be responsible for the full management of recreational marine insurance claims for our Ontario clients, from file opening through to settlement. You will support our clients with professionalism and empathy while ensuring a simple, efficient, and high-quality claims experience.
You will handle a variety of claim files, allowing you to develop a broad range of expertise. You will work closely with the team to ensure claims are handled consistently, accurately, and efficiently.
In this role, you will also contribute to the continuous improvement of our practices by sharing your ideas and experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage boat insurance claims from initial intake through final settlement
• Review claim files, confirm coverage, and apply policy terms and conditions
• Coordinate with the appropriate parties involved in the claim process
• Analyze reports and supporting documentation
• Process claim settlements, including payments or denials when required
• Collaborate with insurers within your assigned authority limits
• Initiate recovery and subrogation procedures
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the department through ideas and recommendations
Qualifications:
• Excellent communication verbally and written in English
• Bilingualism (French) is considered an asset but not mandatory
• Strong listening skills and a highly developed customer service orientation
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple files and manage workload independently in a fast-paced environment
