As a Commercial Underwriter, you'll work closely with brokers across Ontario, helping them find solutions for complex and specialized risks. You'll have the opportunity to deepen your technical knowledge, exercise your underwriting judgment and become a recognized expert in your field, all while making a meaningful impact on our brokers' success.

Key Responsibilities
• Underwrite new business in accordance with insurer guidelines and delegated authority levels
• Review and analyze submissions to assess risk acceptability
• Prepare and deliver quotations, renewal proposals, and policy endorsements
• Evaluate coverage requirements and recommend appropriate insurance solutions
• Build and maintain strong relationships with broker partners
• Respond promptly to broker inquiries by phone and email, delivering professional and responsive service
• Identify opportunities to develop new business and strengthen existing broker relationships
• Maintain accurate underwriting documentation and records
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of Commercial Underwriting experience
• Strong knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
o Realty
o Manufacturing & Wholesaling
o Construction
o Professional Lines (Miscellaneous E&O and/or Medical Malpractice)
o Property & Casualty
o Transportation
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with Lloyd's markets
• CIP designation completed or in progress
• Experience in a wholesale brokerage environment
