We specialize in high-quality repairs and maintenance for vehicles, boats, and marine equipment. Our team is dedicated to providing honest, reliable service in a friendly, customer-focused environment.

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly, organized, trustworthy, and customer-service-oriented Service Advisor to join our team. As the primary point of contact between customers and our skilled technicians, you will play a key role in ensuring exceptional customer experiences while supporting efficient shop operations for both automotive and marine services. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, small-team setting and enjoys helping people keep their vehicles and boats running safely and reliably. There is opportunity to move within the company for the right person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly (in-person, phone, and email) and listen attentively to their service needs for cars, trucks, and marine equipment.
  • Prepare detailed work orders, provide clear cost estimates for parts and labor, and explain repair recommendations in straightforward, non-technical language.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate with technicians to manage workflow and turnaround times effectively.
  • Keep customers informed throughout the service process with timely updates on progress, delays, or additional findings.
  • Finalize invoices, process payments, explain completed work, and handle follow-up communications to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Assist with general shop administration, parts coordination, warranty claims, and maintaining accurate service records.
  • Support marine-specific tasks such as seasonal boat check-ins, haul-out coordination, and yard support as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience: 1–3+ years in an automotive or marine service advisor, service writer, or customer service role preferred. Experience in a small shop environment is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of automotive and/or marine systems, maintenance schedules, and common repairs, and/or a willingness to learn both automotive and marine specifics.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust with customers.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Proficient with computers and service management systems (training provided on shop-specific systems).
    • Basic math skills for estimates and invoicing.
  • Personal Attributes: Positive attitude, professional appearance, honesty, and a genuine desire to help customers. Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
  • Other: Valid driver's license (with clean abstract).

Dandy Automotive is an equal opportunity employer. We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
