310T Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic (Night Shift)

Our client is a rapidly growing and highly respected fleet services and hydrovac organization serving commercial, infrastructure, and utility sectors throughout Eastern Ontario. Due to continued expansion, they are seeking a skilled and motivated 310T Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic to join their night shift maintenance team in Ottawa.

The Opportunity

Working from a fully equipped, climate-controlled shop, the successful candidate will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, safety inspections, and major repairs on a modern fleet of heavy-duty trucks and specialized hydrovac equipment.

Unlike many fleet maintenance environments, this role offers a predictable schedule with minimal emergency call-outs, allowing technicians to focus on quality workmanship while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing on heavy-duty trucks and hydrovac equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
• Complete safety inspections and ensure fleet compliance with provincial regulations
• Conduct major component repairs and replacements as required
• Troubleshoot and repair engines, drivetrains, suspension, brake systems, and auxiliary equipment
• Accurately document repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Collaborate with fellow technicians and service personnel to maximize fleet uptime

What We're Looking For

• Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician License
• Strong experience performing maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and fleet equipment
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
• Strong understanding of preventative maintenance programs and safety compliance requirements
• Self-motivated with excellent troubleshooting skills
• Team-oriented attitude and commitment to quality workmanship
• Hydrovac, vacuum truck, or specialty fleet experience considered a strong asset

Schedule

Night Shift

• Monday to Thursday
• 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM
• Four-day work week with three-day weekends every week

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive hourly compensation up to $55/HR + OT
