Salary: $120,000–$150,000

Description

Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead and manage the company's accounting and financial reporting functions. This role is responsible for overseeing full-cycle accounting, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, managing budgets and forecasts, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting business decision-making through financial analysis.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented financial leader who enjoys improving processes, analyzing performance, and helping drive the financial success of a growing manufacturing organization.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Oversee full-cycle accounting across multiple operating and holding companies.

  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reports.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and variance analysis.

  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.

  • Manage product costing, inventory valuation, and margin analysis.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (ASPE), regulatory requirements, and internal controls.

  • Coordinate annual inventory counts and support audit and year-end review processes.

  • Monitor cash flow, banking activities, and reconciliations.

  • Identify financial risks, control weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within accounting operations and reporting processes.

  • Partner with leadership and department managers to provide financial insights and support business decisions.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team through coaching, performance management, and ongoing development.

What You Must Have

  • CPA designation.

  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.

  • 3+ years of experience in a Controller or senior financial leadership role.

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.

  • Experience with cost accounting, inventory valuation, and product costing in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working with ERP systems such as Infor Visual, Microsoft Business Central, SAP Business One, or similar.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

  • Experience leading and developing accounting teams.
