Job Title: RDL Network Architect
Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Canada

Prior experience in Banking or regulated BFSI environments is non-negotiable

We are seeking a highly experienced RDL Network Architect to lead the design and governance of network architecture within a regulated Banking / Financial Services environment. This role will focus on architecting resilient, secure, and scalable network solutions while supporting enterprise governance, audit, and compliance initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in network architecture, strong understanding of BFSI regulatory requirements, and experience working within complex, federated infrastructure environments.

• Design and implement enterprise network architectures aligned with business and regulatory requirements
• Define standards for LAN/WAN, data center, cloud, and hybrid network environments
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance across network infrastructure

• Support and align network architecture with RDL (Reference Design Layer / Logical Design) frameworks
• Establish and enforce network governance standards, policies, and controls
• Contribute to building and maintaining a structured network design and governance model

• Ensure network designs comply with BFSI security standards and regulatory requirements
• Integrate network security controls including firewalls, segmentation, encryption, and secure access
• Support audit remediation efforts and maintain audit-ready documentation

• Collaborate with infrastructure and patching teams to ensure network components meet patching and vulnerability management standards
• Identify risks and dependencies across network and infrastructure layers

• Work closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams
• Engage with Internal Audit, Risk, and CIO-level stakeholders
• Provide architectural guidance, design reviews, and technical leadership

• Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, diagrams, and standards
• Ensure consistency across environments and adherence to best practices

• 8+ years of experience in network architecture and design
• Mandatory experience within Banking or regulated Financial Services environments
• Strong expertise in enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, routing, switching, VPNs, load balancing)
• Experience with data center and cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments)
• Deep understanding of network security principles and controls
• Experience working with governance frameworks and audit/compliance requirements
• Strong documentation and architecture design skills

• Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent
• Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and network automation
• Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture principles
• Experience with large-scale, federated infrastructure environments
• Knowledge of regulatory standards relevant to BFSI (e.g., OSFI, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001)

• Strong architectural thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to influence and guide technical teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Detail-oriented with a governance and compliance mindset

• Prior experience in Banking or regulated BFSI environments is non-negotiable
• Ability to work in a hybrid/on-site model within the GTA region
• Flexibility to support critical initiatives and audits as required
