Financial Controller

Our client is a well‑established private services company providing safety solutions to the oil and gas sector, with operations in both Canada and the United States. This position is located north of Calgary, as they experience renewed growth and rebuild their accounting leadership layer, they require a hands‑on Controller to support the CFO and take ownership of the financial function.

The Controller will oversee all corporate controllership responsibilities, including financial reporting, accounting operations, and the oversight of AP/AR staff. Working in a small‑company environment, you will play a key role in managing a recently implemented ERP system, handling project‑based and manpower billing typical of oilfield services, and supporting the CFO with day‑to‑day accounting. This is an opportunity to step into a stable, private company with a long‑tenured leadership team and make an immediate impact.

To qualify for this growth opportunity, you must be a CPA with approximately 15–20 years of progressive experience, ideally in oilfield services or manpower‑based billing environments. Strong knowledge of project billing, time billing, and private company accounting is essential, as is the ability to operate independently and hit the ground running. Experience with both Canadian and U.S. operations is a plus, as this role offers potential future succession to the CFO position.
