Key Job Elements

• Welding components of light armored vehicles
• Repair of existing light armored vehicles
• Remove and replace damaged components
• Maintain safe work practices and be able to work in confined spaces and perform physical tasks
• Prepare site reports while deployed
• Provide technical advice to internal and external customers on weld repairs and procedures
• Perform repair estimates in the field for the customer
• Troubleshoot during weld repair
• Assist in mechanical tear down of vehicles in preparation of weld repair
• Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications

Required Qualifications

• 1-year post-secondary education in a private welding school or community college or Journeyman Weld certificate.
• Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) certificate in all positions.
• Ability to pass internal GDLS-C weld assessment.
• 3 or more years of welding & fitting experience related to heavy manufacturing or heavy equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
• Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills
• Displays technical or professional expertise
• Ability to exceed expectations when completing defined tasks
• Experience working with teams and/or customers
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Must meet anthropometrical size restrictions for confined work space
• Ability to travel (50%) extensively domestic/international, for extended periods of time, including in areas of operational deployment with our customers

Preferred Qualifications

• Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) certified and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) with all position certification experience would be an asset.
• College diploma
• Previous light armored vehicle repair and maintenance experience with GDLS products
• Red Seal Journeyman
