Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to support accurate financial reporting and operational insight within a growing, multi‑entity environment. This role is responsible for performing day‑to‑day accounting activities, contributing to month‑end and year‑end close, preparing internal financial reports, and supporting budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work across departments in a fast‑paced setting.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for internal stakeholders, including branch‑level reporting
- Support month‑end and year‑end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis across multiple entities
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Review and record multi‑currency transactions accurately
- Maintain and improve financial reporting documentation and processes
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support operational decision‑making
- Reconcile inventory balances between inventory systems, ERP platforms, and the general ledger
- Analyze inventory turnover, aging, and usage trends to support optimal stock levels
- Coordinate with purchasing, operations, and sales teams to support demand planning and replenishment
- Prepare inventory‑related reporting for finance, operations, and leadership
- Support intercompany reconciliations related to inventory transactions
- Act as a liaison between departments to align priorities, workflows, and deliverables
- Assist with system enhancements, integrations, and implementations through testing and requirements support
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency
- Provide guidance or mentorship to junior accounting staff as needed
- Post‑secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi‑entity or dynamic environment
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Experience with ERP systems, inventory accounting processes and Microsoft D365 would be an asset
- Solid understanding of Canadian indirect tax requirements (GST/PST)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Comfort working independently as well as collaboratively within cross‑functional teams
