We're looking for an Assistant Resident Manager to support day-to-day operations at a new purpose-built rental building in Nanaimo. This is a hands-on role that blends leasing, resident relations, and operational support. You'll work closely with the Resident Manager to maintain occupancy, keep the building running smoothly, and deliver a consistent resident experience from first showing through to move-out.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support leasing efforts to maintain strong occupancy across the building

  • Conduct suite showings and respond to inquiries in a timely, professional manner

  • Assist with marketing and advertising of available units

  • Deliver a high-quality resident experience throughout the full tenancy lifecycle

  • Support rent collection processes and follow up on outstanding balances

  • Assist with move-ins, move-outs, and unit turnover coordination

  • Address resident inquiries, concerns, and day-to-day issues as they arise

  • Assist with minor maintenance and coordinate repairs with vendors as needed

  • Ensure all documentation and systems are accurate, up to date, and compliant with company standards and the Residential Tenancy Act

  • Support regular building inspections and reporting requirements

  • Provide ongoing updates and reporting to the Resident Manager and head office

Education & Experience:

  • Experience in residential leasing, property management, or a similar customer-facing role

  • Working knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act

  • Experience with tenant relations, rent collection, and general building operations

  • Comfortable handling minor maintenance tasks

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities

  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with property management or CRM systems is an asset

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling resident matters
