HR Generalist
Our client is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to serve as the key front-line resource for HR policy implementation and operational support. This role involves close collaboration with local management to ensure organizational objectives align with established HR protocols. The HR Generalist is responsible for day-to-day support of operations, employee relations, adherence to labor laws, and internal policies, procedures, and benefit programs.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Support daily HR operations while ensuring compliance with policies and employment standards
  • Provide guidance to managers on hiring, promotions, discipline, and performance management
  • Mediate workplace conflicts with professionalism, fostering positive employee relations and building trust between staff and supervisors
  • Assist with labor relations activities, including grievances, arbitration, and collective bargaining, while contributing to fair and effective outcomes
  • Prepare accurate HR reports and share meaningful insights on workforce demographics, turnover trends, and HR initiatives to support leadership decision-making
  • Partner with management to design and implement HR programs that align with business goals and strengthen organizational culture
  • Interpret HR policies and procedures in a way that is accessible and easy to understand for both employees and supervisors, ensuring clarity and consistency
  • Monitor employee morale, identify emerging concerns, and provide constructive feedback to HR leadership to support engagement and retention

Your strengths include:
  • 2+ years of progressive experience in a human resources generalist role
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Knowledge of labor relations, HR practices, and employee retention strategies
  • Strong understanding of provincial employment standards and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency with Google/Microsoft Office tools and HRIS systems (MyWorkday preferred)
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Experience working in dynamic operational environments with the ability to reprioritize tasks when needed
  • Willingness to travel to various sites (approximately 20%)
